So happy to have my hilarious sister Janelle guest post today!
In lieu of the holiday season, I got in touch with the big guy by running the Santa 5K. With friends in my ward, we dressed up in Santa suits and dasher-ed around the city. We had a strict diet of cookies & milk at each station served by Santa’s helpers. With our beards to keep us warm we ran like Rudolph and dancer-ed across the finish line while our North Pole blared “Here Comes Santa Claus.” The race was legend, but we hadn’t quite had our fill.
Wanting to keep the spirit alive, we prancer-ed back to our apartment for a “party of the elves.” Guests arrived singing Christmas grams and we vixen-ed them specially made hats. We then comet-ed our guests to eat syrup-filled spaghetti covered in candy (Buddy the Elf style). We watched Will Ferrell walk through the Lincoln tunnel and play cupid to bring he and Zooey Deschanel together. While enjoying the four major food groups: candy, candy canes, candy corns, and of course syrup; we donner-ed our gay apparel and blitz-(en)-ed into singing Christmas carols.
We “became Christmassy” as we ru-dolph and adopted the CODE OF THE ELVES: (1) Treat every day like Christmas, (2) There’s room for everyone on the nice list, and of course (3) The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.
