Becoming a Party Planner

We threw a baby shower for my sister-in-law Rachel while they were in town last week. 

The theme: A Little Man Shower

We tried to incorporate Bro Tips wherever possible: cupcake toppers, cards, signage, etc.

Of course we had to morph their faces together to see what their baby would like...and then add a stash.

Note to self: People are much more inclined to get in a picture when you hand them a stash.

 

Behind the Scenes:

• Diaper Cake: Super cute and super easy. We used this for the basic how-to. The diapers are Target brand, already blue and green, perfect!

1 Parent Trap Party

  My sister Janelle came up with a brilliant beyond brilliant plan a few weeks ago. It was for all of us sisters to watch The Parent Trap at the same time on the same day. Janelle and I live by each other, but Rachel and Melanie are in different states. Regardless, we were determined to watch it 'together' on October 11th, the birthday of Hallie Parker and Annie James. 

We busted out the peanut butter and Oreos, painted our nails silver (Just like Hallie in this scene), and giggled like little girls.

 It was an epic night. We even watched the bonus features which were grand, by the way. Life is good.

 I threw my cousin a bridal shower at our family reunion last weekend.

I made this cake using this tutorial.

Becoming Pumped!

So, call me 12, but I've really been excited about this royal wedding thing.  I even had a dream that I had dinner with the royal family,.  It felt so real!  I remember thinking I should make my facebook status that we had just eaten together!  Ha!  It's just so exciting!  The ring: ba-da-bling!  Diana's forever-long veil and train are classic wedding images in my head.  Not to mention that gorgeous cathedral?!? Wha-bam!

Random:
-She'll be the first queen with a college degree.
-How does she get her hair to do that?  Jealous.
-Have you seen The Queen?  We love it!

Who else is excited about this weddin?

I'm thinking a party is in order: Crazy hats, classy dresses, beautiful cake, the works.  I need ideas, especially for the cake!
