Becoming a Chaperone

Last weekend we were chaperones at Youth Conference. Here's how it went down:

The Good:
- Shooting
- Obstacle course - I can army crawl like it's nobody's business.
- Knowing almost all of the songs being played at the youth dance
- Bustin moves like I was 14 again. I have no shame.
- Wearing the same shirt as one of the youth (It made me feel cool, but I'm sure she'll never wear it again)

The Bad:
- Bruises from army crawlin' like it's nobody's business

The Ugly:
- Trying to sleep - Little girls giggle, and I was a tired human.
- Trying to sleep - It was crazy hot, and my sleeping bag was so warm...so I stole a fleece blanket from one of the girls. She wasn't using it, I swear, and I finally went to sleep. :)

Someone Went Home

We went home for the weekend to see my baby sister Melanie graduate from high school. It was so nice to get away and relax with the familia. Melansquish, you are the stuff.

Becoming Someone

Sam is an amazing friend of mine. We met the summer I came home from college and became fast friends. You can't help but love her. She's so incredibly positive and a blast to be around. Ever heard of glow stick tag? Ever done it in a cave? I wouldn't have either if it weren't for her.

Sara, Andrea, Sam, & I the night of our caving adventures

Sam and her sister Sara have cystic fibrosis. There is currently no cure, but on June 2, a cystic fibrosis walk is being held in Boise. You can find more information about walks in your area and how to donate here. Check it out. You'll be glad you did.

Becoming Older

Birthday weekend was awesome.

- Saw Hunger Games
- Ate delicious food
- Hung out with great people
- Opened presents

Life is good.

Oh yeah, my mom was kind enough to share this picture with everyone on faceook lol.

Becoming Older

Andrea and I have been best friends since we were four, AND we share the same birthday.

We celebrate it together every year, and in recent years, this celebration has included redeeming  birthday coupons. Last night we got a free Red Robin burger and a half off Cold Stone dessert. (Ya gotta get on these birthday club lists, folks. Totally awesome).

Andrea and I just get each other. She's the best friend a girl could have, and "I don't have a single childhood memory without [her] in it." (Name that movie).

Becoming a Skier

We went on a ski date.

Landon Paul is legit, and I...didn't crash this time!
Can't ask for more than that! :)

Becoming Someone

Landon Paul and I went to our local caucus last night. Our precinct is only about a square mile, but there were over 200 people who attended! It was really great to gather as a neighborhood and elect our reps. It took about 4 hours, which was a lot longer than we expected, but we were really happy with who we chose. Make sure you go to yours! You'll be glad you did, and have a great weekend!

Becoming Graceful

A few days ago I went grocery shopping while Landon Paul was at work. Upon my return, I decided I would carry all the groceries into the house in one trip. I was doing just fine until I went down the stairs to our apartment.

Apparently they were icy. Guess I should have checked.

While walking down the icy steps and carrying way too many groceries, I started fumbling for my keys and talking to Copper. Next thing I know, I'm falling down the stairs, and groceries are sprawled all over the snowy mess. On the bright side, Copper seemed to have enjoyed the show.

Surprisingly, none of my clothes ripped. Just three eggs, one tomato, and my fragile skin were injured in the fiasco. Technically, I was able to carry all the groceries in myself, so, depending on your scale, we could call the whole thing a success.

Becoming Someone

Last week I was in Anaheim working at the Craft & Hobby Association trade show. Needless to say, it was a blast. I taught people how to letterpress all day, so basically I'm a very spoiled human.

Here are some pics via the L Blog:

One lady busted out her iPad in the middle of a demo I was doing and recorded this video. Hilarious.

Then Craftaholics Anonymous talked about our booth here. Good times.
Are you a crafter? What do you like to make?

Becoming Someone

Life is hard lol

    Becoming True Fans

Friday night I went to the Parachute concert with my sister and her roommate.

Landon Paul had taken the young men camping, so we hit the town! Our ears were ringing, our voices were gone, and something we ate at Jason's Deli made us beyond sick, but it was SO WORTH IT!

    The show was awesome!!!

    Becoming Someone: Personal Progress

I'm a young women leader in my ward, and all the girls get to work on goals in the in a development program called Personal Progress. I finished the program about ten years ago, but I recently decided to do it again. There are great personal goals in there that I figured would help me just as much now as it did then. It has been really fun, and I'm looking forward to learning lots of new skills and getting into some better habits.

P.S. Happy Friday! Have a great weekend!

    Becoming Someone

My family is in town, and we are gonna party! Any great fall activity ideas for us to try? Have a great weekend!

    Becoming Someone: General Conference

This weekend Landon Paul and I were able to watch to General Conference. I look forward to October and April every year when we get to be so inspired. If you're in need of a lift, listen to this talk by President Uchtdorf. It really touched me.

    Becoming Someone

We went to St. George for the weekend. We saw Grease at Tuacahn...

    the St. George Temple...
and the Brigham Young winter home
P.S. I decided that we  need to live by palm trees...they make me happy.

    Becoming Someone

I'm the new second counselor in Young Women and am really excited! Any advice for me?

    Becoming Someone

Here's a pic from CHA. (We didn't plan the pink/purple thing I swear). Chicago was so much fun.
With my old job, I was part of media day. You can see me hard at work in the background of interviews here. Landon Paul now thinks I have a crush on Bryan Kehl, which he says is okay cause he's cool. For the record, I was not looking at him! I didn't know the interview was going on!

    Becoming the New Neighbor

http://movingcomp.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/moving-day.jpgApparently Landon Paul and I don't know how to sit still. He just got a new job, I just got a new job, and now we're going to move! We're really excited! It's only a minute from my new job and 8 minutes from Landon Paul's job. It's bigger and better, and I can't even wait to move in! Guess what else-it allows dogs! We are officially on the hunt for the perfect pooch! Life is good!
