Guess who has no stomach pain. YUP, for the first time in two years. YUP, I'm ECSTATIC. It has been a game of trial and error this last week trying to say no to the gluten. The day after we decided to try it Landon Paul's grandma made homemade cinnamon rolls, so of course, I ate them. And you guessed it-the stomach pain started. The next day I was doing well for breakfast and lunch, but come dinnertime, I stared at the fridge knowing I couldn't have any of it. I was so hungry I decided to forget it and gorged on everything in sight. You guessed it-the stomach pain started again. So, I decided to quit cheating and really do this gluten free thing, and guess what? I haven't hurt since. It's a total hassle, and I feel awkward asking for gluten-free things at restaurants. I seriously hate high maintenance, but instead of looking at the food and wishing I had it, I imagine myself at 1AM sobbing in pain, not able to sit up, sit down, or lay down like I was two weeks ago, and think, "I'll have an apple." Dinners are the hardest. I've been eating a lot of eggs, mashed potatoes, and bunless hamburgers, but I'm going to do a serious search for some better stuff.
P.S. There are a LOT of food ads at night. Pizza, burgers, fried chicken, mmmm, looks so good, but I'm really trying, because by George, it's nice not to hurt. And, thank you Dill Pickle for telling me about Pier 49 having gluten-free pizza! We get a pizza every Friday night, and it's kind of delicious, and now we can keep the tradition! I was also referred to several gluten-free websites. THANK YOU! If you have any more sites or tips, please let me know!
