Becoming a Reader: The Magician's Nephew
Landon Paul gave me a beautiful hardcover book that includes all seven of C.S. Lewis' Narnia series. I just finished the first one, The Magician's Nephew, and loved it. I think it's especially fun if you've already read/seen The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe, because it answers so many questions you have. I'm excited to read the others. Have you read it? What did you think?
And, have a Happy St. Patrick's Day! Anyone have any fun plans? (Thanks, Rachel for those super cute green food ideas! My green pancakes last year just looked gross!)

It seems like we've been reading a lot of the same books this year! I have always enjoyed this first book because it sets up Narnia and explains a lot of things. The style of the book is so unique in the way he tells the story. He writes as if he's reading the story to his own grandkids. It's really different.
ReplyDeleteThat is such a cool book. I remember when I first saw it I was so confused because I KNEW that the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe was the first book. Rocked my world when I found out it wasn't. I liked the book. Sometimes its hard to read though cuz it is like someone is telling a story. A lot of the side notes and by-the-way type sentences confuse me.
ReplyDeleteAdam and I have been reading the series together, right now we're on book #3 A Boy and His Horse. We thought the Magician's Nephew was interesting, but we didn't particularly care for it, and The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe was pretty boring just because we had seen the movie, but we love A Boy and His Horse so far! I hope #4-7 turn out great, too!
