Becoming a DIYer

Photobucket
We have a window in our spare room that was feeling a little empty, so I made this pennant. I die cut using cardstock, the Epic 6 tool, and the nesting pennant dies. Then I strung them together with a thick string. I love the soft, summery look it adds, and since I am inept at sewing, this worked out slick! :)

So Landon Paul is a really handy human. We've been redecorating our place and were in need of a shelf, so he got to work. He cut the wood with a saw and did some detail work with a router.
Then he sanded, stained, and assembled.

And there you go! The  final product! I confess, I can't stop staring at it. It just finishes the room off so well! The man has skills!

Becoming a Decorator

Landon Paul and I won't be buying a home for a while, so it's utterly ridiculous to have my dream home worked out. But why should that stop the fun? This is what I know: I'm obsessed with wood and brick. I especially love wood on the ceiling. If that is involved, you can pretty much convince me to do anything.

I want my home to be different...just like everyone else, but I think little touches make a big difference. Like these doors - so cool!

Becoming a Decorator

Last week, we...

- saw Zorro The Musical with my family
- went ice skating with the youth group from Church
- repainted the second bedroom

(complete with painters tape and covered floors_

after...

it's amazing what a difference a little paint makes!

Becoming a Decorator

We've lived in our apartment for about 6 months now, and it's time for a change. Unfortunately, our changes are never minor. The only room that we aren't redoing is our bedroom! Anyhoo, here's how the family room is coming:

After

One more thing. Look at my cute puppy. We're working on sit right now. He is my fave.

Have you noticed how many truly ugly baby things there are out there? Just because I want to be a mom doesn't mean I want to carry around a multi-colored diaper bag, ya know? Thankfully, pinterest is helping me steer clear of all things uggo. Don't get me wrong, these nurseries are way out of the budget, but a girl can dream and gather color palette inspiration, right?
I am lovin on these neutral schemes. The way I see it, if a baby is going to be screaming at 3am, the room you walk into should be relaxing, right? This via RH Baby & Child

Happy Halloween! This is our first Halloween in our new place, so we'll see if we get any trick-or-treaters! I'll show you some of our Halloween decorations today to get you in the mood for all the sugary fun!
I made some glittery pumpkins this year and really like how they turned out. I just spray painted them and then added some glitter spray and tied a ribbon on top. (Any tips on painting round surfaces? It was a little tricky).

Becoming a Decorator: Master Bedroom

Welcome to the master bedroom...

You can see how we refinished the furniture here.

Have I mentioned how great it is to be moved in?

Becoming a Decorator: Guest Room

If you come to visit, you'll get to stay in our guest room!

 Toiletries included with your stay.
Piano and guitar also available if you're in the mood to be serenaded.
 Have a great weekend everyone!

Becoming a Decorator

This is the bathroom that our guests get to use...
 and where Copper sleeps.
But you should still come visit us! We'll put him in our bathroom I promise. :)

Decorator: Kitchen

We continue the tour de la apartmento with la cocina. (Yup, I'm practically fluent).
I like bright and happy kitchens (Probably because I dislike cooking so much. I need something to keep me positive lol).
So we went with a green and yellow scheme.
And we have a pantry! For the first time in our married life! Ahh, bliss.
