Becoming Reminiscent
We had a great summer. Here's a quick recap: water park trips, baseball games, family visits, hiking, fishing, Vegas weekend, Landon's hip surgery (went well but full recovery will take a while), country concerts, park visits with Copper, and adoption blitz. We have so much to be grateful for.
Becoming a Dog Owner
We took Copper hikin and fishin last weekend. He did great and loved trying to dismember catch the fish. A random guy on the hike said, "He's like a real dog but in fun size."
We heart him.

Becoming a Reader
Landon and I recently read Delivering Hope by Jennifer Holt. It's a novel about adoption that gives both the adoptive couple and birth mother's side of the story. The author adopted two children herself, so she really understood the emotions you go through. I really enjoyed the book. I loved seeing the miracles that took place to make the adoption happen, and I especially loved the birth mother's story. Have you read it? What did you think?
Becoming a Chaperone
Last weekend we were chaperones at Youth Conference. Here's how it went down:
The Good:
- Shooting
- Obstacle course - I can army crawl like it's nobody's business.
- Knowing almost all of the songs being played at the youth dance
- Bustin moves like I was 14 again. I have no shame.
- Wearing the same shirt as one of the youth (It made me feel cool, but I'm sure she'll never wear it again)
- Bruises from army crawlin' like it's nobody's business
The Ugly:
- Trying to sleep - Little girls giggle, and I was a tired human.
- Trying to sleep - It was crazy hot, and my sleeping bag was so warm...so I stole a fleece blanket from one of the girls. She wasn't using it, I swear, and I finally went to sleep. :)
Becoming Country
This weekend felt like summer. We took Copper for a walk, had Cafe Rio, went to the Chris Cagle concert, and saw some fireworks. Perfection.
We got the concert tickets a few months ago. It was close to the baby's due date, but we figured if the baby came early, we could give them away, and if the baby wasn't here yet, we could use a distraction. Well, we definitely needed the distraction, and I'm so glad we went. It was super casual. The mountains were right behind behind the stage, and we just sat on a blanket to watch the show. Not to mention, Chris Cagle was GREAT! I love summer.
Becoming Someone's Wife
Fact: Drive-ins are awesome. This weekend we pumped up the air mattress, put it in the bed of the truck, and ate delicious food while watching Avengers at the drive-in. So much fun.
Becoming a DIYer
So Landon Paul is a really handy human. We've been redecorating our place and were in need of a shelf, so he got to work. He cut the wood with a saw and did some detail work with a router.
Then he sanded, stained, and assembled.
And there you go! The final product! I confess, I can't stop staring at it. It just finishes the room off so well! The man has skills!

Becoming a Skier
We went on a ski date.
Landon Paul is legit, and I...didn't crash this time!
Can't ask for more than that! :)

Becoming Someone
Landon Paul and I went to our local caucus last night. Our precinct is only about a square mile, but there were over 200 people who attended! It was really great to gather as a neighborhood and elect our reps. It took about 4 hours, which was a lot longer than we expected, but we were really happy with who we chose. Make sure you go to yours! You'll be glad you did, and have a great weekend!
Becoming Someone's Wife
This month Landon Paul and I are focusing on making family home evening a consistent habit. We always joke that every night is FHE since it's just the two of us, but it's important regardless of your stage of life. To make it happen more consistently, we've put it on the calendar for every Monday night. (Writing it down is supposed to help, right)? Then we have one of us is in charge of the lesson and the other in charge of the activity and switch each week. Simple, quick, and easy (Hopefully lol).
How do you make FHE work for you regardless of your stage of life?

Becoming Someone's Wife
To celebrate our anniversary, Landon Paul and I went to the happiest place on Earth.
It was a total blast. I LOVE DISNEYLAND!
Becoming Someone's Wife
Four years ago today, I became Landon Paul's wife. Best decision of my life.
Here's a summary of our years together, by the numbers:

Landon Paul gave me Wii Zumba for Christmas. I had never done Zumba before, but now I'm hooked...
And I completely understand this now.
Have a great weekend!
