Someone Went Home

This weekend we went to Boise to be with mi familia for Easter. We had a blast.

- Answering Melanie's prom date
- Easter egg hunt (You're never too old)
- Partying for Melanie's 18th birthday with at least 60 high school students
- Being entertained by my grandparents (They are hilarious!)

We were able to spend Christmas with Landon Paul's family and New Year's with mine. I learned I have a complete obsession with potato chips and dip, and now it's time to get going on my exercise resolutions. :) We had a blast and hope you did, too. Becoming Thankful

We went to Boise to be with my family for Thanksgiving. It was wonderful.

We celebrated my mom's 50th birthday. Dad threw her a huge "Hawaii 5-0" party with all her friends. Pulled pork, fresh fruit, lays, grass skirts, it was amazing!

We gave thanks and celebrated with an amazing meal.

We went to Kohl's for Black Friday at midnight, and Landon Paul and I got our first Christmas tree (Now that we finally have an apartment big enough for one). The trees were crazy inexpensive and right at the front door. We picked up the tree, got some wrapping paper, and were the first ones to checkout at 12:09. We went home immediately. Best shopping experience of my life.

The roads were flawless, and there weren't any weather issues. Copper slept most of the way there and back. World's best dog award. 

 

We saw some good movies. (In Janelle's spare time, she defeated Darth Maul). It was way too short, but we had a blast! I can't wait to see them again in a few weeks! How was your Thanksgiving? What is your favorite Thanksgiving food?

And watched Charlie Brown-The Great Pumpkin. I had never seen it before,

so I decorated my pumpkin in honor of the one and only Charlie Brown.

Becoming a Decorator

Happy Halloween! This is our first Halloween in our new place, so we'll see if we get any trick-or-treaters! I'll show you some of our Halloween decorations today to get you in the mood for all the sugary fun!

I made some glittery pumpkins this year and really like how they turned out. I just spray painted them and then added some glitter spray and tied a ribbon on top. (Any tips on painting round surfaces? It was a little tricky).

Becoming Ready for Halloween

HELP PLEASE. Remember how I am really bad at Halloween? Well I thought we'd just use last year's costumes again if we needed to, but Landon Paul had a work party. Ya can't really be half of a best friend charm, so he ran to Savers and got some stuff to be a lumberjack. Well, I just learned that I have a work party as well, and I'm kind of in charge. MAYDAY. What should I be/what is ridiculously easy to put together? Thanks.

 When my family was in town, we made these cute turkeys for Thanksgiving. 

I've put them around my house for now, but we'll be putting them on our Thanksgiving table soon enough!

 We used the turkey die and the Epic 6to git 'er done. It was so fun and easy! Have you started decorating for the fall holidays? Have you made any decor yourself? Do tell!

Becoming a DIYer: Confetti

We had such a fun time with my family this weekend. Their visits are always too short. We enjoyed some crazy rainy weather that kept us inside most of the time, so we made some Thanksgiving decor. We used the Epic Six, dimensional tree die (leaves), turkey silhouette die, and nesting maple leaf die to make some decorative confetti. Right now it's sprinkled on our end tables, but we'll also use it to decorate the Thanksgiving table this year. Have you ever tried die-cutting? I'm really becoming a fan! Also, become a follower! All the cool kids are doing it. :)

Becoming a DIYer: Easter Blocks

 

I made these blocks for Easter on Saturday.  Landon Paul cut the wood for me.  Then I sanded the edges and got painting.  Once it was dry, I put scrapbooking paper on top with glue dots.  After that, I cut the letters out with my cricut.

I made Believe blocks for Christmas the same way.  It's a fun project.

Becoming a Reader: The Magician's Nephew

Landon Paul gave me a beautiful hardcover book that includes all seven of C.S. Lewis' Narnia series.  I just finished the first one, The Magician's Nephew, and loved it.  I think it's especially fun if you've already read/seen The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe, because it answers so many questions you have.  I'm excited to read the others.  Have you read it?  What did you think?

And, have a Happy St. Patrick's Day!  Anyone have any fun plans?  (Thanks, Rachel for those super cute green food ideas!  My green pancakes last year just looked gross!)

Happy Valentine's Day!  Four years ago on Valentine's Day Landon Paul held my hand for the very first time.  Precious, right?  I thought I'd share a little musical snack with y'all this mornin.  It's our song, Me and You by Kenny Chesney.  What's your favorite love song?

P.S. Despite popular belief, conversation hearts are delicious.  So delicious, in fact, that I ate the entire bag myself.  Sure it made me sick, but it was worth it!
